THE SCRIPTS
- "Get in Line, One at Time" is an original puppet show script that demonstrates the positive behavior support message of how the friends don't get anything done trying to all push at the same time, but come to understand the value of standing in line. The Creativity Institute writers have developed these scripts to be easy to perform while communicating a value lesson to the children. And we've thrown in enough humor to keep it interesting. The script has four speaking parts. This puppet show length is approximately 3-4 minutes.
- "The Lion and the Mouse" is a Creativity Institute puppet show adaptation of the the familiar Aesop's Fables story.
And there are four scripts are from Gwynn's Fables Set 2, which are our fable-style puppet show scripts demonstrating positive values.
- "First Things First (Don't Procrastinate)", which demonstrates the disadvantages of procrastination. Although the other animals keep encouraging their friend the monkey to join them in building sleds, the monkey chooses to put it off, and then isn't ready when the snow falls.
- "Fair Offers (Cooperation)" about the value of cooperation. The animals realize that a fair in a neighboring town takes place too soon for them to travel to, unless they all pitch in using their individual capabilities. The set of scripts includes a two and four-puppet version of this script.
- "Out of the Box (Imagination)" about using your imagination. Four different animals come across an empty box, and each recognizes a different use for it.
- "Trading Places (Look Before you Leap)" demonstrates the reason to look before you leap. The horse hears about the attractive features of the mouse's house and insists they trade, sight unseen, only to later discover how small it is.

MOVING-MOUTH HAND PUPPET HINT - TALKING: With moving-mouth hand puppets, the natural tendency is to SHUT the puppets mouth with each syllable of the word. But people do the opposite, and so should hand puppets. It may take practice, but try to get the children to OPEN the puppet's mouth with each syllable.
